April 2021 Update

Hello, Friends for Equity in Avon Schools!

We’d like to provide a quick update on our Friends for Equity in Avon Schools group.  We are currently applying for funding and organizing our strategic planning work to map out our vision, goals, action items, community outreach strategy, future events, etc.  We’ll also be offering up ways community members can participate and contribute more actively.  This work will take place over the late spring and summer.  We have met with and are working in collaboration with the student initiated Voices for Equity group at Avon High School, we are in continued communications with APS leadership, we are supporting a community reading of Stamped over the summer (stay tuned), and our website is underway! 

Understanding this is a late notice, we’d like to invite you to join us in attending S.E.E. CT's meeting TODAY at 4pm. They’ll be discussing and sharing their petition to Help SEE CT Stop Racism in Connecticut Public Schools. Register in advance by visiting their website: www.ct-see.com
